How does AI palm reading work?
Upload a clear photo of one or both palms. The AI marks the lines it can see clearly, like the life, head and heart lines, and reads each with the same palmistry conventions. You get a main takeaway, readings for four areas of life and three small steps. Unclear lines are skipped; health, lifespan and dates are never read.
What you get
- Your clearly visible life, head, heart and fate lines marked on your own photo
- What each line means in palmistry, in plain words
- Readings on character, work, money and relationships, plus the one change worth making now
- A main takeaway with three small steps, and a left-and-right comparison when you upload both palms
- A downloadable palm infographic, saved privately and deletable any time
Good for
- Seeing yourself from a lighter, different angle
- Getting a concrete next step when work or love feels stuck
- Comparing the lines on your left and right hands
- Knowing what your own lines mean when friends talk palmistry
How to read palms: the main lines
Palm reading usually starts with three main lines, the life, head and heart lines, and then the fate line that runs toward the middle finger. These are the conventions OpenFate uses, and a reading only covers lines that are clearly visible in the photo.
Life line
The arc around the base of the thumb describes your daily pace and staying power, never how long you live. A wide arc reaching into the palm is read as outgoing and curious; one close to the thumb as preferring a familiar circle.
Head line
Running across the middle of the palm, it describes how you think and decide. A straighter head line is read as practical and fact-first; one sloping toward the wrist as imaginative and intuitive. Starting apart from the life line suggests independence.
Heart line
The upper line below the fingers describes how you show feelings and care. An upward curve is read as warm and expressive, a straighter line as showing care through actions; where it ends also carries different readings.
Fate and resource lines
The fate line runs up toward the middle finger and describes your sense of direction; many people have a faint or missing fate line, which is common and never a bad sign. OpenFate calls the vertical crease below the little finger the resource (money) line and reads it as money habits, never as an income forecast.
Hand shape and the five elements
OpenFate borrows the Chinese five elements as an analogy for hand shape: a square or longer palm and longer or shorter fingers map to wood, fire, earth, metal or water types. This is our own cultural convention, not a BaZi diagnosis or the Western four-element system, and camera angle affects proportions.
AI palm reading FAQ
About which hand to read, accuracy, cost, photos and privacy.
How do you read your palm lines?
Start with the three main lines: the life line around the base of the thumb (daily pace and staying power, never lifespan), the head line across the middle (how you think and decide) and the heart line below the fingers (how you show feelings). Then look at the fate line running toward the middle finger, and only read lines you can see clearly.
Which hand do you read in palm reading, left or right?
Whichever you want to read, or both. Some people follow the tradition of reading the left hand for men and the right for women; it is a custom, not a rule, and gender is never inferred from the photo. With "Use the photo", left or right is read from where the thumb is.
Can AI read your palm lines from a photo?
Yes, when the photo is clear. The AI marks only the creases it can see and reads those. Faint lines, shadows and folds can be misread, so unclear lines are left out rather than guessed, and a different photo or light can change what is visible.
Is palm reading real and accurate?
Palm reading is a long-standing cultural tradition, not a validated test, so treat the reading as a prompt for reflection rather than a prediction. Each report only covers lines that are clear in your photo.
How much does AI palm reading cost?
A completed reading costs 35 points; eligible unlimited plans include it. Failed readings do not use points, and reopening a saved report has no extra charge.
How do I take a clear palm photo?
Open your hand naturally and include all fingers, the palm and the wrist in even light, without glare, filters or screenshots. Lines that are not clear are not read, and that is never a bad sign.
Will my palm photo be public?
No. Photos and readings are saved privately to your account, and other users cannot see them. Photos are processed by an AI service to create your reading, camera metadata is removed before upload, and deleting a reading deletes its photos.
Can palm reading show health or lifespan?
No. Palm reading here is cultural entertainment. Readings never cover health, lifespan, dates or scores, and the length of the life line says nothing about how long you live. Talk to a medical professional about health concerns.
