Three-System Compatibility Method: How Bazi, Ziwei and Astrology Are Compared
How OpenFate compares Bazi, Zi Wei Dou Shu and Western synastry for the same pair, marks where they agree or diverge across five relationship areas, and why it gives no single combined score.
Overview
The same two birth records are calculated in Bazi, Zi Wei Dou Shu and Western astrology. Each system’s compatibility facts are kept separately, then compared area by area. Agreement and disagreement are both reported; the systems are never averaged into one number.
What is calculated
- The full Bazi, Zi Wei and synastry comparisons described on each system’s method page, from one shared pair of birth records.
- For five areas (bonding, communication, passion, stability and timing), an agreement label: converging support, converging tension, mixed, divergent, or not enough evidence.
- Timing years flagged as cross-confirmed only when the Bazi and Zi Wei timing point the same way.
Fixed conventions and inputs
- Each system keeps its own conventions (see its method page); the astrology part uses tropical Placidus charts.
- There is deliberately no unified score: different traditions measure different things.
How the report is written and checked
- The model receives the three systems’ facts and the agreement map and writes the comparison.
- Before a report is saved, every check runs: claims of a double aspect the engine did not find and timing assigned to the wrong system block the report; numbers written as scores are recorded as findings.
- When the comparison finds no theme shared across the three systems, the report says so and cannot claim that the systems agree, converge or resonate, except inside a year that both Bazi and Ziwei flag. The Bazi side of a defensive year cannot be described as steady or favorable.
- Every compatibility report is also held to shared limits: unsupported claims of a rare bond, a whole-match grade above the classical band, and a report cut off before its last section are never saved. The other person’s feelings, fears and view of you are written only as chart tendencies to check in real life, and the two of you are never compared with other couples. If a draft fails only on such wording, top-degree words are toned down in place, sentences that state the other person’s inner life as fact are removed (Chinese and English reports), and the report is checked again.
Check it yourself
The combination reading uses the Bazi, Zi Wei and Western pair facts from the same engines as the single-system compatibility readings, and each of those has a published verification summary: Bazi 240 of 240 pairs identical, Zi Wei 300 of 300, Western 362 of 362. The step that compares the three systems by theme follows the fixed rules above and gives no combined score; it is covered by OpenFate's own test suite, not by a published verification summary.
Concepts in the OpenFate Wiki
Before you buy
- Both birth records are confirmed on a free preview before anything is charged.
- A complete report uses 65 credits. The credits are reserved when generation starts and returned automatically if the report cannot be completed.
- The saved report keeps the calculated facts it was written from, so later questions in the report chat read the same facts.
- The three-system report also requires a membership that includes Combination reports.
Limits
- Agreement between systems is not scientific confirmation; it only shows that separate symbolic methods point the same way.
- A divergence is reported as a divergence, not resolved by picking the more flattering system.
