Annual reading: calculation method, scope and evidence
How OpenFate combines Bazi, Ziwei and Western astrology for one year: calendar boundaries, report scope, a generated example, evidence limits and purchase terms.
What your annual reading can help you explore
Choose the year as a whole, work and direction, money and resources, love and relationships, life and wellbeing, or your own question. The report develops the relevant evidence into a connected reading for that concern.
- The main theme supported by your chart for the selected year, with attention to your actual question.
- For the whole year or one area: a plain verdict for work, money, love and wellbeing, the better stretches and those needing care, and a short month-by-month guide.
- Bazi, Ziwei and Western astrology facts that support the reading, with disagreements and missing support kept visible.
- Practical choices and conditions to check against your circumstances, rather than promised events.
Headings and wording vary with your question and the evidence. The month-by-month guide gives each month a short symbolic emphasis; it is not a daily forecast or a promise of specific events. A question you write yourself is answered directly and may skip the monthly guide.
One report year, three timing methods
The report calendar
The selected civil year starts on January 1 and ends at the start of the following January 1 in the report timezone. This is the reading period; it does not move every system’s new year to January 1.
Bazi: Li Chun and solar-term months
Annual and monthly facts preserve the exact Li Chun and Jie boundaries calculated by the Bazi engine, using its Asia/Shanghai calendar policy. Luck-cycle context and year/month interactions remain distinct; a short monthly influence is not a whole-year condition.
Ziwei: lunar timing and palace context
The annual layer follows lunar-year rules and the birth input’s midnight or late-Zi day boundary in the report’s civil clock. Annual transformations, their receiving palaces, natal and decade context, and monthly periods keep their separate roles.
Western astrology: slow transits and Mars
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto provide longer transit context; Mars contributes shorter contacts to natal positions. The engine searches continuously across the year, retaining separate retrograde passes. A contact’s nearest approach is not a predicted event date.
From birth record to annual interpretation
Calculated chart facts come first. AI then interprets selected facts in the context of your question; it does not establish what will happen to you.
- Confirm the input
Enter birth details or select a saved person, and confirm the exact birth time and place. Select a year between 1900 and 2100; the report uses the browser timezone supplied when you start. A guessed birth time can change houses, palaces and timing.
- Calculate each system on its own calendar
Bazi, Ziwei and Western astrology produce separate records with dates, systems and chart facts. Annual and longer influences provide context; shorter contacts refine the relevant periods.
- Write for the chosen concern
The writing draws on selected evidence and any circumstances you provide. Your own account is context, not a discovery from the chart. Agreement across systems is not a vote or a measured probability.
- Check before delivery
Automated checks examine source references, time scope and editorial constraints. They can reject a draft or request repair. A valid source reference does not by itself prove that the sentence interprets it correctly.
What this version does not establish
- The annual calculation does not include solar returns, progressions, standalone eclipses or lunations, stations, ingresses, or transiting Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus. Features in the separate astrology module are not automatically part of this report.
- Transit windows use configured aspect orbs, six-hour discovery and one-minute numerical refinement. This describes the calculation procedure, not one-minute event prediction or a guarantee that every possible contact is found.
- Month selections and links between symbols and life themes are editorial policies. More records do not mean a luckier month, and a missing record does not prove that nothing relevant can happen.
- A symbolic reading can support reflection and planning. It does not diagnose health conditions, determine investment outcomes or guarantee relationship or career events.
What the public evidence can show
The calculation record makes one synthetic case inspectable: its input, report period and native timing boundaries can be compared with the published method. The archived generated example shows the kind of writing produced in that development run.
This offline synthetic replay checks civil-year limits, distinct Bazi and Ziwei new years, leap-year duration, month-source links and rejection of unknown birth times. It reuses OpenFate calculations and is not an independent benchmark. The periods below use the report timezone; each end is exclusive.

These are internal records, not an independent audit of the complete annual engine or a blinded reader study. OpenFate has not established an annual prediction accuracy rate, a verified preference score or evidence for a “most accurate” claim. Source checks and example quality answer different questions.
A complete recorded annual report
A selected historical example for a fictional student in Tokyo, considering further study or work in 2026. OpenFate calculated the chart evidence and generated the reading. The saved prose is reproduced without human rewriting; one paragraph was revised during automated review.
Generated:
Synthetic birth input:2002-07-19 05:35 · Asia/Tokyo
Female · solar calendar · exact birth time · True Solar Time enabled · day changes at 23:00 · report timezone: Asia/Tokyo.
The historical automated review passed after one paragraph correction. The saved report also passes the current paragraph-source checks. The source notes below come from OpenFate’s frozen calculation for this fictional input.
This is a selected example, not a delivery success rate or independent validation. A general annual reading in the same historical round remained rejected. Human reader preference, willingness to pay and predictive accuracy have not been established for this sample.
This recorded sample was generated in Traditional Chinese. Other language versions of this particular report have not been generated.
Before using points
- An active membership is required, and each annual report uses 65 points, shown on the creation screen before you generate. Check current membership, point and renewal terms before paying.
- Choose an overview, one of four themes or a custom question of 4–500 characters. You can add your situation and decision to help focus the writing.
- Confirm the person, exact birth time, place and target year before generation. The completed report is saved in your dashboard; reopening it does not recalculate the chart or rewrite the report.
- Read the refund policy before purchase. The interpretation is for reflection and does not replace professional medical, legal or financial advice.
Report a calculation or wording problem
Contact OpenFate with the report year, language, report identifier and the specific passage or timing boundary you question. Say whether the concern is the birth input, calculated chart fact or interpretation so it can be investigated at the right layer.
Use the private support channel for report details. Avoid posting someone else’s birth information or complete report publicly; send only the information needed to understand the issue.
